Many people find sitting in a room for therapy unappealing. In fact, through my walk and talk research, I discovered that this discomfort often prevents people from seeking 1-to-1 support. Walk and talk provides a more relaxing and natural way for some to open up about themselves and their lives.
Spending time outdoors and moving benefits our health and well-being, yet modern life often keeps us indoors and fairly sedentary. Walk and talk provides an energising, calming experience. We can either have sessions in person, or over the phone.
There’s no special equipment needed – just decent shoes and appropriate clothing. We go at a pace that suits you, with breaks whenever needed, and if it’s over the phone then you just need signal.
My research found that individuals engaging in walk and talk for just 6-8 sessions experienced a marked improvement in well-being, finding a deeper sense of acceptance, happiness, and peace. They described it as an enjoyable and relaxing way to explore their current challenges at work and in life.
